Ned is trapped inside the human head, and his job is to wait for the nerve centers to tell him when an impulse is ready. When it is, he has to pick up the impulse and carry it to the brain. If an impulse originates in the brain, Ned must carry it all the way to the neck.
There are two types of enemies Ned must beware of. Palpitations, which appear in various disguises, descend from the brain and travel through the head, and can be avoided or atomized. Occasionally, the Head Hazard appears from the neck and makes its way to the brain, and must be stopped at all costs to avoid a large Headache. If Ned survives long enough, he will have a clear head again.
1984, the year Ozzy Versus the Universe - Part I: Demons of Topaz was released on Commodore 64. Made by Software Shed, The and published by Firebird Software, this action game is available for free on this page.
Theatre of Death is a fun and innovative isometric action/strategy hybrid from Software Shed/Psygnosis.
The game is similar in many ways to Cannon Fodder, but much more complex. In this futuristic tactical combat game, you are a commander in charge of a squad of soldiers (usually ten or more). In addition to giving them the standard orders to march and kill enemies, you can order them to climb into tanks and crush enemies with them. Your little soldiers can also enter weapons sheds to change their weaponry (including that collected in that level), and you can call in air strikes and reinforcements if things get tough. Morale is also an important element in the game: your soldiers can panic and run away, and in some missions, your goal is to scare the enemy into surrendering. With plenty of missions, varied scenarios and gameplay options, Theatre of Death is a perfect game for Cannon Fodder fans who want more options and challenges, but don't want the level of gritty realism seen in Jagged Alliance.
