Witchfiend / Odd Job Eddie

Witchfiend, also known as Odd Job Eddie, is a 1985 platform game released by Firebird Software for the ZX Spectrum. The player controls Eddie, a janitor with a magic broom, who must clean up a haunted castle while avoiding ghosts, bats, and other creatures. The game is divided into four levels, each with a different layout. The first level is set in the castle grounds, the second in the castle itself, the third in the dungeons, and the fourth in the castle tower. At the end of each level, the player must face a boss character, such as the Witchfiend herself or a giant bat. The gameplay consists of platforming and puzzle-solving, with the player having to collect keys to open locked doors and avoiding traps. The player is also armed with a magic wand which can be used to stun enemies. The game is challenging but rewarding, with a great sense of satisfaction to be had from completing each level. The graphics are colorful and well-detailed, and the soundtrack is catchy and memorable. Overall, Witchfiend is a great example of a classic Spectrum platform game and is well worth checking out.
