Bridge Olympiad

DOS 1994
Bridge Olympiad is a solid bridge with a diverse set of strong opponents and a full (and long) tournament despite lacking the dynamism of computer bridge games (e.g. Electronic Arts' Grand Slam Bridge or Interplay's Omar Sharif on Bridge). What it lacks in terms of beginner tutorials and intuitive interface it makes up for with the large number of opponents and, as in other QQP games, a complete player history. In addition, the game features one of the best computer AIs you'll find in a bridge game. Thumbs up!

Colonial Project

DOS 1996
Colonial Project is a real-time military-economic strategy game with a traditional Chinese interface. In this game you have to overcome four missions on various planets. The surface of each planet has its own specific characteristics (desert, forest, rocks and lava). In each of the missions there are two types of tasks. The first type is to reach a certain number of colonists for a limited time. The second type is the mandatory destruction of the headquarters in the colony on the enemy side. Your opponent is the highly militarized Lowell Empire and battles are fought for the possession of scarce natural resources. Natural resources in the game are realized as four different types such as uranium, oil, iron and fresh water. In battles you can manage squadrons of combat vehicles and personally give orders to the crew of each tank. You also have the opportunity to build a variety of objects: plants, tank factories, power plants, schools, hospitals, business centers and many other facilities. Good industrial production can lead to surplus production, so you can build warehouses to store surplus production. Every two months a commercial ship arrives in the colony, so surpluses can be sold. An important element of the game is the development of technology. Each of the technologies has five degrees of perfection. Technologies are grouped into three different classes: mining and manufacturing, construction and science, military vehicles and weapons. With a higher level of technological perfection, the various factories and mechanisms work more efficiently and quickly. Therefore, from the very beginning of this game it is necessary to develop the only tool for the improvement of all technologies - computer hardware. If the economic indicators of your colony are strongly negative, then the development of the colony will be stopped for a short period of time, and the game will end ingloriously.

Tanke Da Juezhan

DOS 1993
Following the example of Tank Battalion, this game (whose Chinese title translates as Battle of the Bulge) updates the 'tank in a maze' recipe with an isometric perspective and a WWII setting. The basic premise remains the same: patrol your territory as enemy forces pour in, keep your armored war machine in one piece and defend your base at all costs. The layout of each level determines the course of action, although it can be modified by destroying the scenery. The player can choose the Allied or Axis side. Each level represents a territory: the Allies start from North Africa, while the Axis powers start their offensive from Germany. In addition to the usual tanks, the enemy also uses vehicles to lay mines, while the player has the option to call in air strikes; various power-ups can be obtained by destroying enemy forces. If all enemies are destroyed, the level is clear . . but if they reach your base, it's game over. A password can be used to resume the game at a given level (although the score is not retained).
