Magical Puzzle: Popils is a single-screen platform puzzle game. The goal of each round is to traverse the maze until the player reaches the princess (or the princess reaches the player). The player can break blocks, climb ladders, and go through portals. There are also hazards to avoid, such as red spikes and enemies.
Breaking blocks is the most important gameplay element. Breaking a block causes the column of blocks above it to fall one place. The player must use this block-breaking ability to change the maze and create a path to the princess.
The short introduction sequence shows the backstory: A beautiful princess has fallen in love with you. And you have fallen in love with her too. . . The forest wizard 'Popil' has locked her in his labyrinth.
