Patriot Command
Patriot Command is a shareware game for one or more players, is one of many games based on the classic arcade game Missile Command.
The player has a series of cities along the bottom of the screen along with two missile sites. They face successive waves of warheads which they must destroy to protect their cities. To do this, you must aim your limited supply missiles so that they detonate close enough to the incoming warheads for the blast radius to encompass and destroy them.
In addition to standard warheads, the player also faces stealth warheads, which are harder to see and destroy, along with enemy aircraft flying across the screen at high altitude.
The goal is to destroy the incoming warheads and score as many points as possible before the cities are destroyed, at which point the game ends.
The game is controlled with the mouse, moving the mouse targets the incoming rockets while the left and right buttons fire missiles from the left and right missile sites. It has five skill levels. For slow computers, it can be customized to use square explosions instead of round ones, which require more calculations. It was fully functional, but stopped working after several minutes.
