The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft
The famous Hardy Boys make their video game debut with this game, The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft. The game is a pure adventure with a modern setting and storyline, featuring all the traditional elements of point-and-click, exploration, puzzle solving, item hunting and interaction with in-game characters. Played from a third-person perspective, players can choose between Frank or Joe Hardy. They play together intermittently or as a team to complete each other's objectives. Each guy has his own inventory, but can share items in special circumstances or in unusual ways.
There is an intruder at the Spencer residence and valuable bonds are reported stolen from the safe. The Hardy Boys are members of an organization called A. T. A. A. C. (American Teens Against Crime), so they are recruited to help solve the case. Of course, their parents don't necessarily approve of their involvement in the crime, so early in the game the usual teenage antics of hiding the case from their parents come into play.
There are puzzles in a variety of situations and inventory-based problems to help the boys perform the many tasks that await them. The game includes four chapters and features an orchestral soundtrack and sound effects.
