Prelude to Darkness is a classic single-player turn-based RPG with dark overtones. It takes place in a dying river valley on the brink of civil war, and the player can choose to join this rebellion or stop it.
Prelude is called a 'dark' RPG for a reason: it has many moral choices, many 'grey' areas. For example, in the first town you arrive in, there is a pregnant girl who has been kicked out of her house and whose father she doesn't know. You have a choice between ratting out the girl's lover for 250 drachmas, or being sympathetic and keeping your lips sealed.
