Devilish

Devilish is a video game in the action genre developed by Opera House Inc. and published by Sage's Creation, Inc. originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on Game Gear.

Gamma has kidnapped the hero's love and is holding her hostage in his hideout in the Temple of Evil. The hero must defeat Gamma's forces to rescue his love.

Devilish is a variant of Breakout. Instead of the screen remaining stationary, the game screen will scroll forward once the ball (called a power orb in this game) passes through a barrier. The game consists of eight stages. Players control a paddle and have to hit a power orb on the barriers to pass through them, and the orb can also be used to destroy enemies. The paddle can be configured in four different formations, which are an offensive and defensive stance and an L and inverted L formation.

The stages must be completed before time expires. Stages also contain treasure chests that can contain a time bonus, a 1-Up, a Buster Ball that can break any barrier, and a Flash Bomb that will destroy any surrounding blocks when it explodes.

The game offers a normal game mode and a time trial mode. The time trial only includes the first six stages. The options allow the player to choose between easy, normal or hard difficulty and also allow you to select the number of power orbs you have available at the start.
