Description Dilbert's Desktop Games

This is a series of desktop games in which characters from Scott Adams' popular comic book 'Dilbert' play a series of time-wasting games. In typical 'Dilbert' style, the games depict corporate ineptitude, and the various characters are voiced by actors making sarcastic jokes. Many of the games are played in current 'screenshots', allowing the carnage to spread from the games to whatever working document the player has open.

The ultimate goal of Dilbert's Desktop Games is to play each game to discover the 'pieces' hidden in the desktop toy machine. If all of these pieces are obtained, the 'secret' Dilbert videos on the CD-ROM (usually recorded) are unlocked. In all, there are six mini-games of machine parts, many of which can be played as arcade-style action clones.

Techno Raiders Dilbert is a platformer in which players navigate the corridors of an office while avoiding obstacles and traps set by 'techno-builders' intent on stealing the office's technological advantage. As you progress through the office building, the difficulty level increases rapidly.

Stop the idiots Suddenly, the idiots start opening doors on the player's desk, hindering productivity! Use your phasers to get rid of them as quickly as possible. Players move the mouse, aim and shoot before their teammates get out.

Elbonia Airlines The cheapest way to fly is with a slingshot! Send your management team on various 'business trips' to different targets that appear on the screen.

Boss Evader In this Space Invaders clone the boss shoots pink slips at Dilbert from the top of the screen. To justify your job, you must avoid the shots and fire a yellow status at the boss. The inbox acts as a shield and absorbs the pink slips, but only for a short time. If you manage to hit the 'bungee boss', which appears momentarily on the screen, you will earn Extra Lives.

Passing Project: This is the time of a meeting, i. e. when the boss hands out jobs. Players use their keyboards to try to give their team good assignments (such as donuts and extra money) and send the other team with bad assignments (such as real jobs). This game is also a two-player game.

Can-O-Matic deadlines are approaching and the company needs to ship as much product as possible. The only way to do this is to load expendable employees into Catbert's cannon and shoot them at product ideas outside the company. The company will launch as many profitable ideas as possible while avoiding defective products that can electrocute employees.

Dilbert's Desktop Games offers these games, which provide the components for a desktop game machine, plus some additional games and time killers.
CEO Simulator. For gamers who think they could run their company better . . . CEO Simulator is a simple management game that is played over several days. As the owner of a small business, the player must keep productivity high and employees motivated. Players can try to run the company to death, offer gifts or leave employees alone.

Jargonizer Although not strictly a game, players can paste or type innocuous-looking text into the window and use Jargonizer to add corporate jargon, buzzwords and management nonsense to their use of English. Statements of intent can be created with this software.

Final Word This is not a game either, but one that allows you to put humorous 'stamps' on screenshots (preferably work documents). For example, you can add the stamp 'Urgent: start ignoring immediately' to a Mobygames message. There is no print icon for this stamped document, but players can take a screenshot (not embedded) to mail and deliver to the office.
