Discover the World II

Discover the World II is a video game in the educational genre developed by Entrex Software Inc. and published by Entrex Software Inc. originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on Mac.

Discover the World II is an edutainment title that lets you assume the role of a sailor in the Age of Exploration, including such famous names as Sir Francis Drake. You start in Lisbon (Portugal) and sail from there with the mission to cross the world, trade with foreigners, search for food and defend yourself from pirates. The game offers you a wide variety of missions, often with a mission to obtain some exotic trade commodity or to sink an evil pirate's ship.

The main interface is a world map, which allows you to steer your ship anywhere on the globe. However, as you sail, your sailors consume food and will get scurvy if you don't have enough fruits and vegetables. As you travel the globe, you can hunt for food or trade with the people and obtain native crafts that will sell well back in Lisbon. Also, if your ship is overloaded, you can bury treasure and other things anywhere on the globe for future retrieval.

It is possible that we have multiple downloads available when different versions exist.
