DOOM II

DOOM II is a video game in the action genre developed by id Software, Inc. and published by CDV Software GmbH originally released in 1994. It is currently playable on DOS.

In this sequel to the original DOOM, the protagonist is still the same hero: the last remaining space marine. After single-handedly saving Mars from the demonic threat, he returns to Earth, only to discover that the demons have already invaded it, killed most of its inhabitants or possessed them. Your task is to bring down the force field surrounding the last operational starport to allow the remnants of humanity to escape to the stars.

DOOM II has a very similar look and gameplay to its predecessor, as it uses the same 3D graphics engine with 2D sprites for the enemies. Once again, the gameplay consists entirely of driving the hero from the first-person view through 3D environments and shooting demons while trying to find the exit by pressing switches and searching for keys. Unlike DOOM, which is divided into three episodes, the 30 levels of this game (plus the 2 secret levels) form a single long episode.

The game adds a new weapon to the player's arsenal, the super shotgun, and several new types of demons with more advanced attacks than those of its predecessor, such as the Heavy Weapon Dudes, who carry a machine gun, the skeletal Revenants who launch homing missiles and the sinister Arch-Viles, who have a very damaging fire attack.
