Double Dragon: Fists of Rage

Double Dragon: Fists of Rage is a video game in the action genre developed by Migami and published by Migami originally released in 2005. It is currently playable on Windows.

Double Dragon Fists of Rage is a magnificent fangame starring the duo from CAPCOM's famous Double Dragon series.

Its creator, Miguel 'Mig2' Perez, has created all the graphics himself, which look very similar to those of the original games, as well as some cool scenarios that have a nice pseudo-3D look. The plot is more or less redundant: Jimmy and Billy Lee have to find and rescue their friend Marian from a mysterious villain.

Like the official Double Dragon game, Fists of Rage features a large number of attacks and combos: you can throw punches, kick, grab and throw, do a whirlwind of kicks, etc. You can pick up various items around the stages and use them as weapons, and find secret paths and hidden power-ups. The number of simultaneous enemies on screen seems a bit low compared to console fighting games like Streets of Rage, but that doesn't make Fists of Rage an easier game.

Polished graphics, well-designed stages with lots of layers and hidden paths, and frantic gameplay make for a very good fanmade game that lives up to Double Dragon lore. two thumbs up!
