Description Dreadnoughts

Dreadnoughts is a turn-based surface fleet battle simulator. It accurately recreates the appearance, specifications and tactics of the fleets of the major naval engagements of the 'Great War' from 1914 to 1918.

The game begins by promoting the player to Admiral, placing him on the bridge of a large flagship, and then resetting the clock to start from the critical hour. The game features the isometric battlefield engine used in Waterloo, including weather effects and fog of war system. The game's calculations are based on complex mathematics. Seven historical scenarios (the Battle of Jutland, involving more than 60 ships) are included along with other battles and smaller scenarios. There is also a practice scenario for the beginner.

Dreadnoughts is played primarily through menus where you have to point with the mouse or keyboard and issue the corresponding command. The commands are issued through phrases. There are several keywords to issue commands, plus a directive to let the computer know who you are talking to.
