Dvorak on Typing

Dvorak on Typing is a video game in the educational genre developed by Park Place Productions and published by Interplay Productions, Inc. originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on DOS.

Dvorak on Typing is a typing tutor developed in conjunction with computer columnist John C. Dvorak. The program consists of lessons and a game. The lessons consist of simply typing the keys shown on the screen and there is a visual keyboard highlighting the location of the keys. There are also two meters on the screen that report the player's performance, one for accuracy and one for WPM (words per minute). The lessons are voiced by Dvorak himself, Tracy (child's voice) or Loren (adult female voice). It is possible to use a Qwerty or Dvorak keyboard. Lessons can also be run in a timed mode.

In the game the player controls a medieval knight fighting against evil adversaries. As the player types the knight on the screen he will attack the enemy. The faster the player types, the more successful the knight will be in the fight. After completing a number of lines of text, the player can rest for one minute and then can see the knight in action.
