Fields of Battle is a video game in the strategy genre developed by BevelStone Production and published by BevelStone Production originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on Windows 3.x, Amiga.
In this tactical game the player controls a Central Powers or Entente state and its African colonies and tries to win the First World War.
The game takes place on a tactical map showing Europe. This map is divided into provinces, e.g. Berlin or Normandy. The player can use various display modes in which the map shows the attributes of the provinces, e.g. terrain or economic power. The movements of the soldiers are easy to perform, you have to drag them to their destination with the mouse. Combat is calculated by the computer after each turn.
The game has a detailed online help that explains the game mechanics and provides historical background information. A scenario starting in 1914 is included in the shareware version. After paying the registration fee, the player has access to additional scenarios and more units.
