Description Fostiator

Fostiator is one of several sample games demonstrating the capabilities of the DIV Games Studio development environment: a simple versus game with four characters and three stages, using high-resolution prerendered sprites for the characters and stage objects. You can play against the AI with three difficulty levels, play against other players with a single keyboard, or watch the AI play against each other.

There is no storyline, but DIV Games Studio's user manual includes brief (and rather trite) descriptions of each character. Alien: skeletal animation of an alien warrior with sharp claws; Bishop: bionic fighter; Ripley: Earth's greatest gymnast; Nostromo: immortal warrior with an axe. The character names clearly allude to the 1979 film 'Alien' and its sequel 'Aliens', but are otherwise unrelated to this franchise.

Fostiator was available for free download on the official website of DIV Games Studio. The complete source code for the game was also included in a copy of the DIV Games Studio suite.
