Fungus

Fungus is a video game in the action genre and published by Players Software originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Fungus lives on a floating island in space leading a quiet life with one problem, the only food he eats is mushrooms and these are found on other nearby islands. The problem with these islands is that they are filled with various creatures that don't like having their mushrooms taken away and the fact that Fungus can't stop running while on them. You control Fungus with the game viewed from the side at a high angle with the screen constantly scrolling from left to right. You can move up and down on the screen, as well as jump over gaps as you avoid creatures and obstacles while collecting as many mushrooms as you can. If you touch a creature or obstacle, as well as fall off the island at the edges or in the gaps, then you lose one of the four lives and return to the beginning of the island.

Before playing there are several options to select and you can choose an island (1-7), a selection of four creatures to avoid, the difficulty (1-3) or the color of the islands. You use a joystick to control Fungus.
