Fusillade

Fusillade is a video game in the action genre and published by Miles Computing, Inc. originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on Mac.

Fusillade is an action game in which the player is the last person trapped on the planet Fusill and has to defend one of its cities from kamikaze looters trying to steal the jewels, the planet's energy source. The game is a top-down shooter in which the player moves through a maze and has to stop the enemies from taking the jewels found in the center of the maze. Enemies enter the maze from all directions and the player simply has to shoot them before they can steal the jewels and escape. For every jewel the enemies manage to take, the planet will lose some of its power. When all the enemies have been eliminated, the player advances one level and more, different and faster enemies appear.

When the player's energy is full, he can withstand five hits from enemies and three collisions before dying. Energy increases proportionally depending on how many jewels are left at the end of a level. Energy is drained throughout each level and each time the player is hit. The game ends when all energy is depleted. Scoring is based on enemies killed and jewels defended. A killed enemy is worth three points and a rescued jewel is worth an extra point. At the end of each level the player also gets one point for each remaining jewel. For every 200 points scored the player gets an extra jewel (as long as he has less than the initial eight).
