Golf is a video game in the sports genre developed by Atari, Inc. and published by Atari, Inc. originally released in 1980. It is currently playable on Atari 2600.
Golf features a nine-hole, par 36 course that can be played by one or two players. Play is from an aerial view of the course, with sand traps, water hazards, trees and rough. Players cannot choose their clubs and control the distance of the ball by the size of their backswing. Direction is determined by the position of the ball and the player. When the player finally reaches the green, play changes to a close-up of the green for putting. There are two different skill levels, which include the size of the cup and the amount of force applied in the rough or sand.
