Golf Resort Tycoon is a real-time business management simulator. You design and maintain a golf resort, controlling a range of facilities such as restaurants, tennis and racquetball courts, guest accommodations, maintenance facilities and, of course, the golf course. When you finish building your course, you can walk around it in a first-person 3D mode, although you can't hit the first shot. As in the Microprose Roller Coaster Tycoon game, you can select any golfer and see what they are doing and how the facilities suit them. You can also pick them up and drop them anywhere in your resort.
Golf Resort Tycoon can be played free-play (build your resort without worrying about the set objectives) or you can choose from twelve scenarios. The difficulty is determined by the amount of money you have on hand at the start of the game.
