Graviton II

Graviton II is a video game in the action genre developed by Zephyr Software and published by Zephyr Software originally released in 1993. It is currently playable on DOS.

Like the first Graviton game, this is a physics-based shooter modeled after Gravitar, with a triangular spaceship with spin and thrust controls, whose flight is governed by inertia, gravity and acceleration. This time there are 16 new planets, divided as before into four solar systems.

In space, the player faces the gravity of the sun and some hostile flying saucer. The planets can be tackled in any order, but starting with the most difficult ones awards more points. On the planets, gravity becomes a downward pull: the main dangers (besides running out of gas) are enemy turrets, drifting mines (which deflect most shots) and the terrain itself; a force shield can be used to defend oneself, and energy can be replenished from fuel tanks on the surface. To conquer a planet, all turrets must be destroyed.

The level ends when all four solar systems are reduced to ashes; later levels raise the stakes with inverted gravity, invisible terrain, and finally both at once! The registered version allows you to choose your starting point and adjust various game variables to change the difficulty level.
