Description Hammer Head
The classic video game, Hammer Head, was released in 1983 for the Atari 8-bit computer systems. Gamers of that era will not soon forget the thrill of taking on the titular hammerhead shark, blasting dangerous enemies, and navigating far-flung depths.
Hammer Head told the story of a diver who dived deep into the ocean in search of treasure, only to become ensnared by an evil hammerhead shark and its army of robotic cronies. The brave adventurer was given a submarine equipped with a destroyer gun and two different kinds of torpedoes: simple shots to take out the fish and crab enemies, and a much more powerful Freeze Torpedo to temporarily stun the hammerhead and his cohorts.
The underwater environment of Hammer Head was faithfully depicted with a good amount of detail and vivid color. Its 8-bit graphics would create a vast landscape that included treacherous obstacles like electric eels, jellyfish and spiky sea urchins. Players had to keep a watchful eye out for hidden power-ups and extra points, such as coins and gems that could greatly improve their chances of success.
Gameplay was fast-paced and exciting, with waves of fish and crabs emerging from the darkness to threaten the player's progress. Each level of Hammer Head presented a thrilling challenge that was sure to test both the players' reflexes and cunning.
The game featured two different game modes: adventure mode and survival mode. Adventure mode was a linear story with a slew of entertaining goals, while survival mode served as a high score challenge, where it was possible to go for an impressive, ever-increasing score.
The developers of Hammer Head created a classic that will live on in the memory of gamers for years to come. It provided a cool and engaging experience that has yet to be rivaled by other games of its kind.
