Hollywood or Bust

Hollywood or Bust is a video game in the action genre and published by Mastertronic Ltd. originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC.

You are an actor named Buster Baloney in the early days of cinema and you must search a studio for the five missing Oscars while filming. The studio is viewed from the side with a small part shown on the screen that scrolls as you move. You must search several floors of the studio connected by stairs as you enter the doors of the film sets. Patrolling the studio are security guards that you can dodge or shoot with cream pies, or ghosts to avoid but they will only attack behind you, so you can lean against the walls. If you get hit by a guard or a ghost, it's game over.

Occasionally, a door will lead you to the street and here you will be chased by a large number of Kops. The screen is viewed from the side but at a high angle and the screen constantly scrolls from left to right. As you walk down the street the Kops will try to hit you but can be stopped by a cream pie. You have a meter that decreases if you get hit and when it empties it's game over. Cream pies can be refilled by turning a tap at the top of the screen and collecting the cream at the bottom.
