Hopper Copper

Hopper Copper is a video game in the action genre developed by Prune Software and published by Silverbird Software Ltd. originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

The once quiet town of Grove Town now has a crime problem with four dangerous criminals running around town committing crimes. This is a job for you as the local police but you have a problem, all the vehicles have been hidden by the criminals and all that is left is a Space Hopper to bounce around town and catch them all within a time limit.

The game is viewed from the side as you move left or right through the streets with the screen scrolling as you move. There are several openings in the streets which are shown on a street map above the play area. You can also see the offenders that are on the same street. At the bottom of the screen the location of a crime is displayed and you can also see your location and a ticking clock. You move through the streets looking for the criminals and, if you find one, you jump on him. Three of the four criminals are armed with a club, studs and a pistol. If they hit you with the gun and tacks, you will lose one of your three lives. The club only stuns you and wastes valuable time.
