Hotel Wars is a video game in the simulation genre developed by Bothtec, Inc. and published by Bothtec, Inc. originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on Sharp X68000.

Hotel Wars is a business simulation game where players build a chain of hotels in Europe. Up to 4 players can compete against the CPU. The game has a fixed time period and does not tell players what their CPU competitor is doing.

There are 18 European cities available and players have 9 options to choose from during their turns. They can build hotels, hire cooks and managers, train them, get loans from banks, buy or sell shares to increase their income. Players can use a phone to call financial advisors who will give them information about their competitors, an insurance company to avoid losing too much money in case of fire, a Yakuza member who will help players hijack their competitor's hotel (at the cost of extorting money from the player each month) and the police, who will fine players for using Yakuza services but protect them from future payments to the mafia. Players can also take over their competitors' hotels. Players who have gone bankrupt will have their hotels bought by their competitors.

The game progresses monthly and each time players choose what to do, the game displays their monthly profits and losses. Economic factors also play a key role in the game, as the game signals the state of the economy during the game. To win this game, players must be the first to build a chain of 10 hotels and achieve an income of $5000000. In case no player has achieved this goal, the game continues until the deadline assigned by the player at the beginning of the game.

There are some events to pay attention to in the game:In April, a tax inspection will take place. Depending on the manager's skills, players may have to pay a fine of up to $100,000. If players have not hired a manager before the tax inspection, they will be fined $20,000. In case the players are unable to pay the fine, their hotel will be foreclosed. Depending on the skills of the cooks, visitors to the hotel may become intoxicated, especially during the summer. If this happens, the hotel where the poisoning has occurred will be suspended for one month. If this happens, players will lose their hotel permanently. This probability is related to the manager's skills as well as the state of the economy.
