Hunchback 96

Hunchback 96 is a video game in the action genre developed by Dodgy Posse originally released in 1997. It is currently playable on DOS.

Hunchback 96 is a side-scrolling, single-player platformer inspired by Ocean Software's 1983 title, Hunchback. The player controls the eponymous Hunchback who races through the game to rescue his beloved Esmeralda. Along the way he must dodge fireballs, jump over flaming pits, avoid angry birds . . and that's just in the first two levels! Although there are bad guys in the game, this is not a fighting game, Hunchback can move left/right and can jump and that's it.

A level is completed by traveling as far to the right as possible, exiting the screen completes the level. The player starts with three lives, a new life is granted after completing four levels.

The game has music and sound effects, and is controlled entirely with the keyboard.

Although Hunchback 96 has the same gameplay mechanics as its 1983 namesake, it is not a remake, but an original product that pays homage to the classic titles of the 1980s.
