I-War is a video game in the action genre developed by Imagitec Design Inc. and published by Atari Corporation originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on Jaguar.
The gigantic supercomputer that controls the world's information has been infected by a virus. You must enter a virtual world called I-Way and wipe them out with your antivirus tank.
I-War is a 3D virtual reality tank game. In each of the 21 levels, you have to find all the data capsules and make your way to the exit. Standing in your way are enemy tanks, turrets and bombers, and sometimes locked doors controlled by hidden traps and switches. The levels are divided into simple enclosed rooms, connected in a linear fashion by one-way teleporters.
At the beginning of the game, you can choose between fast, medium and heavy tanks, and their abilities are reflected in the power of their weapons and the amount of damage they can absorb. You will also be able to upgrade your weapons and improve your tanks (shields, radar, automatic aiming, etc. ) during the game to effectively defend yourself against an increasing number of enemies. You can save your progress in a cart at the end of each level.
There are bonus rounds between levels, where you pilot your tank down a corridor and try to collect a certain percentage of data pods. Once you get that percentage, you get an extra life.
