Ingrid's Back!

Ingrid's Back! is a video game in the adventure genre developed by Level 9 Computing, Ltd. and published by Level 9 Computing, Ltd. originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on DOS, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum.

Ingrid is Ingrid Bottomlow, the intellectual but awkward gnome we met in Gnome Ranger. Her beloved hometown of Little Moaning is destined to be transformed by Jasper Quickbuck of Ridley's Manor.

Ingrid has three cunning plans to stop him: draw up a petition with everyone's signature, find a more orthodox method of prevention, and finally, infiltrate Ridley's own manor by posing as a maid, then find evidence that he is a dubious geezer who should be locked up. These three missions can be played in any order, although they logically follow each other. She is accompanied by the dog Flopsy in the first two parts, and her cousin Daisy in the third.

Ingrid's Back! uses the same gameplay system as the original, and other contemporary Level 9 titles, such as Knight Orc . Giving instructions to other characters (including Flopsy) and jumping around the map using the GO TO and FOLLOW commands. A living world of people traveling, trading, and relaxing underpins everything, and plays a role in most of the puzzles.

The disk versions of the game contain graphics, except for the Apple II and Atari 8-bit versions, which are text-only.
