Insect Invade II is an action game in which the player controls a naked man who must defend himself from an onslaught of purple tentacled monsters falling from the sky. The weapon is a machine gun that is aimed and fired with the mouse, and grenades can also be fired. Power-ups occasionally appear from defeated enemies and are valid for a few seconds after collecting them. Power-ups include better weapons, 'weak enemies' that kill monsters in one hit, and 'grenade madness' that lets you fire grenades faster.
Defeating monsters in the air with certain weapons will prolong the life of the current power-up. The hero dies instantly upon contact with a monster, and there is no set goal in the game other than to rack up as many kills as possible.
