John Chenault's Snake!

John Chenault's Snake! is a video game in the strategy genre and published by Simon & Schuster Interactive originally released in 1984. It is currently playable on DOS.

John Chenault's Snake! is one of the first Nibbles clones for the IBM PC.

But this Snake game with ASCII graphics has something else to offer.instead of 1 it has 3 game modes: single player, two player and against the computer.

In this game you control a snake that has to eat random food that appears to grow while avoiding bumping into your own growing body or hitting a wall. The maximum score is based on how long you manage to survive + how long your snake body has grown. Above a certain length, you will get bonus points and special objects will appear randomly for you to collect.

The special objects are: -Chomps: allows you to cross through your body -Yen's Signal: shrinks the snake but increases the snake's movement speed for a while.

In two-player mode (human vs. human) you can get extra points, plus shrink your snake if you get your opponent to collide with your snake body.

In versus-computer mode you have to avoid 4 small snakes and your opponent dies when he bites you or another opponent or when he crashes into a wall.
