Jumpman Lives!

Jumpman Lives! is a video game in the action genre developed by Shamusoft Designs and published by Apogee Software, Ltd. originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on DOS.

Jumpman Lives! is an excellent and faithful rewrite of Epyx's Jumpman and Jumpman Jr., the latter never before made for the PC.

Written by Dave Sharpless and published as shareware by Apogee, the game contains all 30 levels of the original Jumpman, 10 levels of Jumpman Jr. and 5 new levels, plus an easy-to-use level editor. In addition to retaining the look and feel of the original jump and run classic, Jumpman Lives! offers the option to jump to a random level, multiple difficulty levels and the ability to manage up to 4 players simultaneously.

The plot remains the same, except that it now takes place on Saturn and not Jupiter as in the original: as a front-line government counter-terrorism agent, you are the only one who can defuse the deadly TechnoBombs. For your task, you have been equipped with JUMP (Jet Controlled Upward Motion Propulsion) boots that allow you to avoid deadly terrorist traps and jump through levels.

The gameplay is similar to Lode Runner: negotiating ladders, vines, and other obstacles.
