Karamalz Cup is an advertising game for the malt beer brand Kalamazoo. It is a national team ice hockey game with a tournament. The game plan is based on the '93 World Cup; there are 12 teams to choose from and they are divided into two groups. In the groups, everyone plays everyone else, and the teams ranked first through fourth after the group stage advance to the quarterfinals.
Unlike computer implementations of other sports, the exact same player will always play, even if other players on his team have the puck.
The Karamalz Cup was the first advertising game for the Karamalz brand, developed by the advertising agency The Art Department in 1993 for the private brewing company Henninger Bräu AG.
