Killer Satellites is a video game in the action genre developed by Starpath Corporation and published by Starpath Corporation originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on Atari 2600.
For decades, weapons satellites orbiting the Earth have been harmless. Now, for no reason, it has fallen from the sky to annihilate the human race. You are a test pilot with an experimental machine that can stop that satellite. It is up to you to protect your homeland.
You are flying over the force field of your city. Satellites fall from the sky and appear in the radar area at the top of the screen. The satellites have the ability to penetrate the city's shields, so you have to fly over them and shoot them down before they reach the city. Watch your fuel, as you will lose a life if you run out of it. Also, watch out for the laser heat indicator just below the fuel gauge. If the laser gets too hot, it will not fire until it cools down. The city's force field can't stop satellites, but it can stop your ship, so jumping into it will deplete your energy. In later levels, you will have to deal not only with satellites, but also with meteors. Meteorites cannot be shot, but they cannot penetrate the city's shield. However, if you hit a meteorite, it will be destroyed and you will lose a life.
