Liberty or Death is a video game in the strategy genre developed by KOEI Co., Ltd. and published by KOEI Corporation originally released in 1993. It is currently playable on DOS, Genesis.

Liberty or Death is a turn-based strategy computer game released by Koei in 1993.This game is set during the American Revolutionary War between the British and the Patriots. Players could select to play as either side, offering two completely different goals, weapon options, and strategies.

The player's goal was to conquer the 13 colonies by moving his forces across them. Army units could take the form of Militiamen, Native American tribes, American Regulars, British Regulars, Loyalists, and the French. Each unit possessed distinct strengths and weaknesses, and had the potential to add strategic depth between the two sides.

The game was praised for its detailed representation of the army units. Facets such as terrain types, fatigue, and ammunition were considered in the game's AI as forces moved across the map. Weather conditions were also a factor to consider, as foggy and rainy weather could obscure the movements of enemy forces. The game also included an engaging tactical combat system that simulated the period's weapon types.

Resources were allocated and managed by the player to support their troops' movements across the land. This included food, munitions, spare horses, and gold. Spent resources had to be replenished, which could be done through taxation or by capturing enemy outposts. Events such as revolution, naval raids, and surprise attacks diversified the game, making it even more interesting.

Despite a positive critical reception, Liberty or Death did not find commercial success due to its difficulty. Mouse support was also added later, but did not help improve the sales. Nevertheless, the game provided an immersive experience into the events of the American Revolutionary War and is fondly remembered by fans.
