Little Icarus

Little Icarus is a video game in the action genre and published by Mr. Micro Ltd. originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Little Icarus is a side view horizontal scrolling game in which the screen constantly scrolls from right to left across five levels as you control Icarus trying to reach his Father Daedalus. You must fly through the lands of Greece while avoiding various creatures such as birds and bees as you try to reach your Father without losing all your energy. At the top of the screen is an energy bar that increases faster the higher you are in the air, so flying close to the ground slows it down. Clouds move from left to right at the top of the screen and this increases your energy bar when you touch them. On the ground, in addition to the buildings, ships and trees, there is a cat that moves along the ground and occasionally jumps when you are close to the ground. If you touch any creature, you move down a short distance and if you hit the ground, objects or your energy bar fills up, you lose one of five lives. Pressing the fire button stops the game and displays your progress and high score.
