Live Wire! was released by Microsoft in 1999 for the Windows operating system. This puzzle game features two game modes, Trap and Throw, in which the player moves a character around a playing field to set traps and break them in order to score points. The game includes 100 levels and 10 bonus levels over five different worlds, including the technical world, wild west, ancient world, transportation world, and fantasy world.

The basic game play revolves around trapping an electric wire between two metallic walls. The character moves around on the playing field to arrange objects and navigate the environment in order to create a valid wiring configuration with the two walls. The goal of each level is to close the wall barrier before the time runs out. Along the way, the character must also collect items and receive bonuses to get the highest score.

The most innovative feature of the game is the "Take It or Leave It" bonus. In each bonus round, players must decide to either take an item or leave it behind. Taking an item will award the player with bonus points, whereas leaving it will decrease points if the item is correct, or incur no penalty if it's false. This adds an element of uncertainty and risk to the game, as it requires players to think quickly and guess correctly.
