Lost in Time

Lost in Time is a video game in the adventure genre developed by Coktel Vision and published by Coktel Vision originally released in 1993. It is currently playable on DOS.

Lost in Time is possibly Coktel Vision's best game, and one of the most devilishly difficult and intricate puzzle games you will ever encounter.

You play Doralice, a fearless heroine who has been chosen by the space-time police mainframe because of obscure ties to the villain of this adventure, Jarlath Equs. Jarlath has stolen a sample of Americium 1492, hiding it in the past, due to its radioactive half-life, and needs to bring it back in time so he can use it to... what else... conquer the world. You have to find him and the sample before he destroys the time continuum.

Lost in Time may very well be the game that invents the most, as you'll be faced with literally hundreds of puzzles that require MacGuyver-like logic to combine household objects and turn them into useful tools. While most of the puzzles are logical, some of them require huge leaps of logic and pixel hunting syndrome that may cause some players to give up. To compound the problem, there are always more puzzles than can be solved, and part of the challenge is figuring out the order in which to do them.

Clues are available in the form of 3 'jokers' that you can use at any time, and the game is even stealth-coded so that you can't 'cheat' by using a joker and then restoring it: you'll discover, to your horror, that that joker isn't coming back.

With a broad scope spanning several eras in time from 1840 to the present, challenging puzzles, and an interesting plot, Lost in Time will keep you busy for days on end. Highly recommended.
