Luigi & Spaghetti

Luigi & Spaghetti is a video game in the action genre developed by Topo Soft and published by Topo Soft originally released in 1992. It is currently playable on DOS.

One of the least known platform games of all time is this excellent cartoon game from Spanish developer Topo Soft, starring the long-forgotten Mario brother of Nintendo's best-known series.

In Luigi & Spaghetti, our hero sets out to stomp enemies in various locations around the world, including such well-known tourist spots as Egypt. While the graphics are nothing to write home about (the palette is rather bland, with poor pixelation), it's the gameplay that shines. True to Topo Soft's reputation as one of Spain's leading action houses, Luigi & Spaghetti plays very smoothly, with plenty of cool power-ups and fun enemies. The game is also longer and more difficult than the typical platformer, making it one of the most challenging games for joystick experts. Luigi runs, moves and attacks with smooth animations, and the levels are well-designed and varied.

Whether you're a fan of Luigi's console exploits or not, Luigi & Spaghetti is a charming and interesting platformer that's well worth your time. Too bad its sequel Luigi in Circusland isn't as much fun.
