Description Mega Math

One of Sierra's lesser-known games, Mega Math is the latest title in the short-lived Turbo Learning series.

This decent math game stars Quarky and Quaysoo, two plucky aliens from Jeff Tunnell's previous Turbo Science. The scope of the game is much more limited this time around: kids will learn simple algebra through 3 mini-games, and take quizzes to advance to the next level. The mini-games seem a bit redundant because they all teach the same concepts at the same time (e.g., addition), with little variation in gameplay (e.g., you press the correct answer on the keyboard in all 3 games. The differences between them are only the way the answers and equations are displayed). Therefore, children are likely to get bored of the games in a short time.

More game variations (as in Super Solvers: Outnumbered! by Learning Company) would have made Mega Math a more solid and replayable game. As it is, it's just an okay educational game that's fun for a while, but gets boring once you've seen all the mini-games and cartoon character antics. Turbo Science is much better.
