Mind Pursuit

Mind Pursuit is a video game in the educational genre developed by Pacific Softech Inc. and published by Datasoft, Inc. originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Apple II.

Mind Pursuit is a trivia game in which one to four players try to answer questions on a variety of topics in three different game modes. In all three game modes you have to try to win the game by answering questions up to a certain number of points, get the most points within a time limit, or play on a board. You press space to roll a die and the number corresponds to a theme which are Science and Nature, History and Geography, TV and Film, Sport and Games, Culture or Grab Bag. There are three types of questions to choose from: 'Fill in the Blanks', which is worth 100 points, 'Multiple Choice', which is worth 50 points, or 'True or False', which is worth 25 points. If a question is correct, the player receives another question, but if a question is wrong, the next player receives a question.

For the point limit you can choose between 500, 1000, 1500 or 200 points and you can select the time to answer a question, 30 seconds, 45 seconds, 60 seconds or no time limit. For the time limit you can choose between 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes, and you can select the length of time to answer a question. These modes are text only, but the occasional question has music or sounds.

The board game itself allows you the duration of the answer to a question and you can choose a character as a piece. The board itself is an isometric view with the entire board displayed on the screen. Players start at the bottom left and have to reach the top left of the screen. There are several squares and each has 100, 50 or 25 in them. Again, you roll the die to get a topic for a question and move on to the next square. The 25 and 50 boxes allow you to choose the type of question, but the 100 box only allows you to answer a fill-in-the-blank question. If you get a question right, you move the amount dictated by the amount in the box you were in.
