Moraff's World

Moraff's World is a video game in the role-playing (rpg) genre developed by Moraffware and published by Moraffware originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on DOS.

The second and best game in Steve Moraff's RPG series, Moraff's World expands on the monster-slaying, treasure-getting premise of Moraff's Revenge by adding more sophisticated gameplay features and a much larger game world. The MobyGames description says it all:

There are many dungeons and continents to explore in this classic. All dungeons are randomly generated, although once you play for the first time the dungeons remain the same afterwards. There are over 40 different monsters with different attributes and weaknesses and 200 levels of each dungeon to play through.

The dungeons are explored in first person view, and you can travel across the surface of the land in top-down view as an X (the effect used to show the different heights of the land is interesting). There are also plenty of items to pick up, from holy hand grenades to the standard set of plate-mesh armor.

With a larger scope than Moraff's Revenge and a better user interface than Dungeons of The Unforgiven, Moraff's World is the best RPG in this cult classic series. Recommended for any fan of Roguelike games looking for a 'light' dungeon crawl with a cool sense of humor.
