Neutralizor

Neutralizor is a video game in the action genre and published by E&J Software originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

It was never going to be an easy job being the commander of the Nebulax Trilogy which contains three hostile planets, Glaciax, Solarix and Terrax, which provide an abundance of minerals for Federation battleships. Things have become much more difficult because the alien starships have placed radiation pods on the surface of each planet and various creatures to protect them. Each of the pods has started producing radiation and when they reach a critical level, the planets will be destroyed, so with your jet-pack and laser you must fly over the surface of the planets and destroy the pods. Once you have destroyed all the pods on a planet, you will move on to the next one with a higher level of radiation.

Neutralizor is a horizontal scrolling side view game in which the screen scrolls left or right as you move. Before starting the game you have several skill options that you can adjust which are Skill (Duffer, Novice, Normal, Expert and Master), Gravity (Low, Normal and High) and Inertia (Low, Normal and High). The higher the skill, the more pods to destroy and the more aliens to kill. In addition to the main game zone, you can also see above the game zone three indicators showing the radiation levels of each planet. If a planet's level is high, you can press space and you will be transported to its surface. Below the play area is an indicator showing the direction of the nearest capsule and the number of capsules, your score and lives.

The last indicator you have to control is the temperature, and if it reaches the minimum or maximum, you lose one of your five lives. Your position on the surface of each planet affects the temperature, so the higher you fly, the colder it will be, while if you fly low, the hotter it will be. You have to shoot or avoid moving aliens, as they will also increase your temperature. Once you have destroyed all the pods on each planet, you will start the game again, but with a higher skill level. The joystick is used to control your hero and you have to take into account your inertia when turning and stopping, as well as the force of gravity pulling you down.
