Description Nexus
You are a journalist for a newspaper called The Clarion and you have been sent by your editor to a drug ring headquarters in Columbia to rescue a friend who has been taken hostage by the Drug Baron after being caught investigating him. You are also tasked with getting the answers to 32 questions to make a big scoop about the drug ring and the Drug Baron. You arrive at a beach outside the headquarters where you are greeted by an N. E. X. X. U. S. a government agency sent to disrupt the drug ring from the inside. You can accept their help to enter the building or you can ignore them, but you will need their help later in the game. Your priority is always to rescue your friend, but the choice to get the story or simply escape is yours.
Scattered around the building and its surroundings are the answers to 32 questions divided into four parts to be collated into sentences and sent to your editor. There are several terminals scattered around the building that are color-coded red, black or blue. The red terminals allow you to put the sentences together, while the black terminal allows you to send the complete sentences to the editor. The blue terminal gives you information about the different N. E. X. X. U. S. agents showing their different skills. U. S. showing their different abilities, which can help you if you wish.
On your mission inside the building, you will encounter thugs that you can try to avoid or fight them off. At first you are unarmed, so you have to fight them with your fighting skills and you have several moves to use, but later in your mission you can use various weapons to kill them. If you take too much damage from the thugs and their weapons, you will lose consciousness and wake up in the hospital or in a prison cell if you are captured. If you have cooperated with any agents, you will be rescued from the cells, but you will still end up in the cells and may be left there.
The joystick is used to control your hero and also to open a menu of functions that allow you to greet people, get your score or use grenades, as well as other functions. The game screen is divided into several sections: the top frame shows your hero and the surrounding area from the side, and the screen scrolls from left to right as you move. Below the game screen is a box showing instructions or conversations you have with people, and below that is a radar showing objects you can't see on the game screen. Other boxes show the portrait of a person in view, who they belong to, the direction of any object and the last box shows the function menu, the map or a preview of your hero's next move.
