Off the Wall is a video game in the action genre developed by Atari Corporation and published by Atari Corporation originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on Atari 2600.
Off the Wall is a breakout style arcade action game. The mission is to control Kung Fu Lou to reflect the balls bouncing off the bricks that form the wall and destroy the mysterious evil wall. When the ball hits a brick, it is destroyed. At the top of the screen is a mysterious dragon guarding the wall. Each level is completed when all the bricks in the wall are destroyed or the ball hits the dragon six times. After passing the first level, a black bird appears just below the wall. This bird will change the direction of the ball and interfere with it, making the mission more difficult. Catching the magic tokens that occasionally fall to the bottom will give you special powers. The ball will become magnetized and follow the player, the paddle will get bigger, or the ball will explode and the mass of bricks will get bigger. The player's ability at the beginning of the game is 'farmer' and levels up for every four waves of bricks removed. Each time a ball falls from the bottom of the screen, a life is lost, and the game ends when all five lives are lost.
