'Olimpiadas 92: Atletismo' was one of two games created by Topo Soft to commemorate the Olympic Games held in Barcelona in 1992 (the other game was 'Olympics 92: Gymnastics').
In 'Olimpiadas 92: Atletismo', the player, representing one of the six available teams (Japan, Germany, United States, France, Spain and United Kingdom) must compete in a sort of 'mini' decathlon competition, composed of only 6 disciplines. These disciplines are
- 100 meters. - 110 meters hurdles. - Long jump. - Triple jump. - High jump. - Pole vault.
The player, before competing in the main event, has the option to train each discipline separately.
The control of the virtual athlete is classic in this type of games. Thus, to make the athlete run, the player must press, quickly and alternately, two keys on the keyboard.
