Oüba: The Great Journey

Oüba: The Great Journey is a video game in the action genre developed by ToyboxGames Inc. and published by Reflexive Entertainment Inc. originally released in 2007. It is currently playable on Windows.

The land of the Oiva, a peaceful tribe of colorful and strange creatures, has been devastated by the powerful red wizard Garuba. The inhabitants are trapped in cages by the evil wizard and must be freed.

Ouba. The Great Journey is a tile-matching game in which the goal is to match three or more bricks of the same color horizontally or vertically within a time limit to free the Ouba. On the main screen, the prisoners, Ouba, are standing on pillars made of colored bricks. The prisoners can only escape when they touch the ground, when all the tiles on the pillars are removed with matches. The bricks can swap positions with adjacent tiles and thus can move anywhere on the grid; Garouba keeps adding new rows of bricks every few seconds, pushing the stack up; if any of the Oüba is crushed to the top and dies, it's game over! .

Power-up tokens appear randomly in the stack and are activated by matching them adjacent to each other. Bombs with a radioactive symbol explode the tiles they touch. Row bombs, with two arrows pointing in opposite directions, remove six tiles horizontally. A column bomb, indicated by two arrows pointing up and down, removes six tiles vertically. A shuffle indicated by two arrows in a circle changes the position of all tiles. Rainbow bombs act as wild cards and match any color. The color bombs explode all tiles of the same color. The flattener rearranges the stack in a straight line. Frozen tiles prevent the addition of new columns for a few seconds. Hammer tiles break individual blocks. Slow tiles slow Garouba's speed and make him less efficient at putting new tiles in the stack; Oüba shuffle moves all prisoners to the empty column below.
