OZone

OZone is a video game in the action genre developed by Pixel Multimedia and published by Electronic Arts, Inc. originally released in 1997. It is currently playable on Windows.

OZone was released in 1997 by Tsunami Games and LucasArts as a sci-fi action adventure to compete with other Windows games of the time. It was ultimately a triumph of its era, as players could explore the game's lavishly designed environment.

The plot of the game centered around a traveler in a universe populated with robots and aliens. Players took the role of one of the inhabitants, a Lybrian by the name of OZone. The story followed OZone’s journey through various planets to collect pieces of an artifact called ‘The Obsidian Key’ in order to save his world.

The gameplay presented a mix of exploration and puzzle-solving as OZone travels from planet to planet. Along the way, there are plenty of various mini-games and obstacles to overcome. Players were able to customize their character with numerous upgrades to increase health and weaponry power. Furthermore, a targeting system was implemented for gunplay to make it more realistic.

Visuals were top-notch for the time; the design team created vibrant 2D sprites to bring OZone’s universe to life. Even so, a range of special effects were added to give the experience a surreal atmosphere. The game also featured a vast palette of colors and a plethora of cutscenes to dramatize the story. The soundtrack was also quite a treat, with masterfully composed tunes that appropriately match the game's sci-fi theme.

OZone was an integral part of the classic Windows gaming scene. Its creative blend of action-packed gameplay and sci-fi elements made it an immensely enjoyable experience to all who experienced it. All in all, it was an excellent adventure game that solidified its status as a true classic of its time.
