Phaser Patrol is a video game in the action genre developed by Arcadia Corporation and published by Arcadia Corporation originally released in 1982. It is currently playable on Atari 2600.
In Phaser Patrol , you are an interstellar starship pilot on a mission to protect the Human Federation from the Draconian Legion. The gameplay is similar to Star Raiders. You start by looking at a sector map and must head to the sector where the dracons are located. Once you reach your destination, the game switches to a first-person perspective and you must destroy all enemy fighters in the sector. Once cleared, the player can return to the sector map and head to a new location. The mission is successful if all sectors with enemy fighters are conquered. Your aircraft's energy is limited and will decrease as you head to new sectors or take damage from enemy fighters. If you run out of energy, the game is over, but you can replenish it by visiting friendly space stations throughout the galaxy (visiting a space station also allows you to repair damaged equipment, such as photon torpedoes and sector scanners). The game is timed, and the faster you complete the missions, the higher your ranking will be at the end.
