Prospector Pete is a video game in the action genre developed by British Software and published by Mastertronic Ltd. originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 16, Plus/4.
Prospector Pete is a game heavily influenced by the game O'Riley's Mine where you control Prospector Pete in 16 mines trying to collect gold as well as gas and oil. The game is viewed from the side with most of the level shown on the screen with the screen scrolling left or right. You must collect all the gold in each level before a ladder appears at the top of the screen to exit the mine.
When you start tunneling through the level, a stick of dynamite will explode and the rising water will fill a tunnel and flow around all the tunnels you have made, if you touch the water you will lose one of your three lives. In addition, the evil ones will roam around the tunnels and you will also lose a life if you touch them. To help you fight the evil ones you have a limited number of dynamite that you can throw to stop them.
