Pub Trivia Simulator

Pub Trivia Simulator is a video game in the puzzle genre and published by Codemasters originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Amiga, Amstrad CPC.

Pub Trivia Simulator is a game that tries to simulate a quiz machine found in bars. The idea is to climb a pyramid by answering questions on various topics to get to the top and try another pyramid but for money. Before starting the game you can select how many players (1-4), which block of questions to load (1-3) and which avatar for your player.

The game costs 10 pennies and you select a box in the bottom row of the pyramid with several categories. Once the question is selected, you go to a new screen and press the start button. The question appears with three answers to choose from and you must answer before a timer reaches zero and if you get it right you receive points and return to the pyramid screen. You choose a new question in a new row and it is touching the box you last answered. If you get it wrong and you are in the bottom row of the first pyramid, you can try again, but if you get it wrong at any other time, the game is over. The next player, if selected, now plays and, if he has money, can play again after the other players' turns.

If you reach the top of the pyramid and answer the question correctly, you move on to the money maze. This is another pyramid similar to the first one, but now it has money hidden in certain boxes. If you answer a question correctly with money, it is added to the bank and allows you to move on if you get a question wrong. Once all players have finished, the points collected during the game go to the highest score.
